Sexually Transmitted Illnesses

Don’t forget about getting tested for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections!  Find a testing location near you, and call ahead to make an appointment.

The CDC recommends testing at least once a year for syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea.  Those who have multiple or anonymous partners should get tested every 3 to 6 months.

Mpox:

Mpox isn’t over – now is the time to protect yourself.  New Mpox cases have been reported and the potential for exposure and future outbreaks are still a concern.  Get both vaccine doses, check yourself and your partners for symptoms and get screened for STI’s.

Get Vaccinated!  Getting fully vaccinated from Mpox means protecting yourself and helping to prevent MPOX in the future.  Not vaccinated yet?  Need your second dose?  Check out the list of providers in the chart below to find a vaccine provider close to you.

To be fully vaccinated and have the best protection against Mpox, people need to get both doses of the vaccine.  The second dose is given 4 weeks after the first dose, and your protection will be highest 2 weeks after your second dose.  If it has been more than 4 weeks since the first dose, the second dose can be administered as soon as possible, and the series does not need to be restarted.  If you have received your second dose, there is no need for a third dose at this time.
