June 25, 2021—Four Corners Health Department COVID-19 Weekend Update
York County has seen an uptick in cases of COVID-19 this past week. This is due to two separate outbreaks in the community, which are happening simultaneously. Several of the earlier test results have been sequenced, and 2 variants of concern were confirmed on Friday, June 25, including the Delta (B.1.617) and P1 (first seen in Brazil) variants. Both of these variants are more contagious and easily spread than the earlier COVID seen last winter. The most important action we can take at this moment is to get vaccinated so that these variants do not spread further into the community.
Over the last 3 days (June 23-25), there were 18 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the District:
- York County had 16 new cases for 1,809 total cases.
- Polk County added 2 new cases for 589 total cases.
- Seward County had no new cases for a total of 2,036 cases.
- Butler County had no new cases for 857 total.
As of June 25, the total cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in the Four Corners District is 5,291. There were 38 new cases in the previous 14 days, with 36 of those cases recorded in the past 7 days.
Over the prior 7 days (June 19-25), the totals for each county are as follows:
