Coping with Your Child’s ADHD
ADHD impacts multiple regions of the brain — the ones that control attention and impulsivity, and also the ones that help us identify and control our emotions. All are welcome to attend who provide support to children/youth experiencing ADHD. This is an in person and/or zoom webinar sponsored by Four Corners Public Health Department.
The presenter is Donald P. Belau, Ph.D., School Psychologist, has extensive experience in working with children and adolescents experiencing ADHD. This will be a 60 minute, interactive presentation with post session opportunities to ask questions as well.
- Participants will be able to describe how emotional self-regulation influences their child’s behavior.
- Participants will be able to name at least one problem-solving approach that can be taught to their child and other family members.
- Participants will be able to name at least two tips and/or resources for coping with stressors that their child/adolescent may experience.
- Participants will be able to identify available resources when concerned about their child/adolescent’s personal safety.
