It is critical to understand and use the concepts behind inclusive, empowering language.  We should honor the lived experiences of others and send appropriate messages, particularly in the sensitive language of suicide prevention.

  • Demonstrate effective conversational strategies to increase the likelihood of positive outcomes with individual experiencing suicidal ideation.
  • Discuss self-care approaches to address practitioner stress when addressing suicide ideation.
