How to Talk About Suicide & Mental Health: Your Words Matter

Participants will be able to identify:

  • the 3 main components of the National Framework for Successful Messaging.
  • why messaging/word choice matters and will be able to give examples of correct messaging.
  • resources that help an individual look at suicide and mental health.

Speaker:  Quinn Lewandowski.  Quinn is a senior research specialist at the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center where he serves as the project director for the 2019-2024 SAMHSA Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention Grant.  Quinn also serves as the president of the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition, and as an executive board member of the State Local Outreach to Suicide Loss Survivors (LOSS) Coalition and the Lincoln-Lancaster LOSS Team.
