March 14 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm CDT
Coping with Your Child’s Moods
Each child’s moods are gateways to understanding the world that they are experiencing. Responding to moods, rather than reacting to them calls for an appreciation of each child’s unique journey of growth. Keys as to what are developmentally predictable as compared to emotions that can lead to behavioral concerns are discussed.
- Objective 1: Participants will be able to describe at least two keys to connecting with their child’s emotional journey.
- Objective 2: Participants will be able to describe at least one strategy in supporting their child who may experience bullying behavior from a peer.
- Objective 3: Participants will be able to list at least two characteristics of a child’s struggle with moods that could indicate a serious emotional issue.
- Objective 4: Participants will be able to identify available resources when concerned about their child/adolescent’s personal safety.
The presenter is Donald P. Belau, Ph.D., School Psychologist, has extensive experience in working with children and adolescents experiencing ADHD. This will be a 60 minute, interactive presentation with post session opportunities to ask questions as well.
