Equip Yourself to Be There for Others

You can often feel anxious and unprepared when someone needs your help with a mental health or substance use concern. This reaction is normal. You can equip yourself to feel more capable and confident to help people.

Four Corners has two workshops to equip you to be there for others.

Hope Champion Network

Over 2,000 research studies have shown that hope is the #1 predictor of future well-being results. People with high hopes are more likely to be healthier and happier in their jobs.

In the Hope Champion Network workshop, you will be trained to act as a Hope Champion. This person can help community members make ties between hope science, and the school and community. Those who complete this train the trainer course will be equipped to give four 2-hour training courses for their school and community on these topics:

  • Trauma and Resilience
  • Empathic Strain and Self-Care
  • Building Hope in Yourself and Others
  • Using Hope Science to Drive Outcomes

The workshop is on January 23rd and 24th, from 9 am to 4 pm each day. It will be held at York University. This is for everyone who works with people and wants to improve their skill set. By doing so, you’ll also improve the health of your community.
