Stepping On – York Senior Center

Stepping On is a 7-week program designed for people who are living at home and have experienced a fall or are concerned about falling.  This is an evidence-based program that is effective to reduce falls by more than 30%.  The program incorporates strategies to implement positive lifestyle changes to keep you independent, upright, and active.

Join this class to:

    • Strengthen your balance
    • Build confidence
    • Learn more about fall triggers:
      • Vison
      • Medication
      • Footwear
      • Home safety tips
      • Safely navigating your community

Tuesday afternoons from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, starting on June 6th at the York Senior Center, 725 N. Nebraska Avenue, York, NE.

Class size is limited – register early!  Registration closes on May 30th.

Living Well With Chronic Disease 

Living Well is a self-management workshop facilitated by trained leaders that helps you take control of your health by using small steps toward positive changes and healthier living. Workshops are interactive and not just lectures!  Groups of 8-15 individuals take part in the workshops to share their experiences and provide support to each other.

You WILL benefit from Living Well if you have or are caring for someone with a chronic condition.  

People who attend the workshops have shown:

  • More energy and less fatigue
  • Improved overall health
  • Health care cost savings
  • Slower progression of chronic conditions

Living Well With Chronic Disease Class will be starting in June!  Join us on Thursday, June 15th at 12:30pm at Four Corners Health Department for “Session 0,” which is a chance to learn more about the program.  Actual class sessions are tentatively set for the following 6 Thursdays, beginning on June 22nd at 1:30pm.  Click here, or Contact us to learn more!



Tobacco Quitting Information Session 

Thinking about quitting tobacco?  Come learn what’s available in Nebraska and locally to help you, or a loved one, quit.

You’ll also find out about two tobacco quitting programs:  Beat the Pack and Freedom From Smoking

It’s here!  Its Free!  It can help someone quit using tobacco.
