Living Well With Chronic Disease

Living Well is a self-management workshop facilitated by trained leaders that help you take control of your health by using small steps toward positive changes. Workshops are interactive and not just lectures!  The Phone-In option is a great way to share your experiences with a group – without leaving your home! You WILL benefit from Living Well if you have or are caring for someone with a chronic condition.  Phone in class beginning March 9th 10:00-11:30am.  An in-person workshop will also be held in May – June.

Are you thinking of quitting tobacco?
Come learn what’s available in Nebraska, and locally, to help you quit!  You’ll also find out about two tobacco quitting programs: 
  • Beat the Pack
  • Freedom From Smoking

It’s here.  It’s free.  It’s virtual.  It can help you quit using tobacco (chew and cigarettes).  Learn more about the health benefits of quitting.  Sessions last about 45 minutes and are held on the first Thursday of each month at noon.  Join us virtually or in-person sessions available.

Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training

Next virtual training will be held Thursday, February 25, from 4:30-6:00pm.

Connect via Zoom to learn 3 simple steps to save a life!  There is no cost for this training.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.  Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

Four Corners Health Department and York General Living Well Program are hosting a class via Zoom in November 2020!  The class meets once weekly for 4 weeks and offers step by step support to help participants on their journey to quit using tobacco.  It offers the support you may need to live a life without tobacco.  You will also get a variety of options available in Nebraska to help you successfully quit using tobacco.
